   Avant Garde Jazz Blues and more!
   Rosie Hertlein's musical background is divided equally between the worlds of improvisation and contemporary classical music. She began serious study of both violin and piano in the late 70's, before switching her focus to violin and vocals in the 80's. She earned a degree in Sociology in 1989, subsequently traveling to Ghana to study the links between society and music in Western Africa. After returning to Germany, she began teaching and working as a composer, violinist, singer and percussionist in a variety of settings.
     Her work in recent years includes collaborations with multi instrumentalists Joe McPhee and Daniel Carter and performances with composer Pauline Oliveros' "New Circle Five". In June 2002 she premiered Cecil Taylor's "With Blazing Eyes and Open'd Mouth" with the"Sound Vision Orchestra" and Mr. Taylor on piano. She performed withReggie Workman's "African-American Legacy Project" and with the "Jump Arts Orchestra", conducted by Butch Morris,she collaborated with guitarist Bruce Eisenbeil on original music and other projects. She performs with her band "The Improvising Chamber Ensemble (ICE)", with Howard Johnson, Dave Taylor, Vincent Chancey, Jay Rosen, Charlie Burnham and herself on violin and vocals. She also sings and plays in numerous classical ensembles and settings and collaborates and performs regularly with dancers.

   Those of us who rely on the mainstream media to keep us informed, sadly have no idea what the Crop Circle subject is about. Over several decades, many eye-witnesses to the events describe the total time for the glyph to form as approximately 4 to 7 seconds. The plants are rapidly heated and "zapped" by electromagnetic energy, as revealed in laboratory tests of the plants in the formations.
    Tonight we will see aerial views and ground views of the 60 or so formations that have appeared in this current "season" of the last few months.
    We will also see the only existing video of an actual Crop Circle being formed (shot in 1996).

"Defense of Doubt" is an original play that celebrates the 100-year anniversary of the birth of Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu’s, the woman who would come to be known as Mother Teresa.  
   This play shows how a frail, sickly young girl grew into a powerhouse that demonstrated to the world how a single life can make a difference.  It also gives us a glimpse into her own personal doubts and fears.  The play reveals Mother Teresa as a simple woman, often uncomfortable with her own fame and gives insight into why she focused on helping those whom no one else wanted to help.
   The staged reading will be directed by Morna Murphy Martell who has an impressive list of creditsin Staten Island theater. These include "Harriet Tubman Herself" (now touring the schools); "Santa Claus is Missing" (six year run at theChildren's Museum); "Fauntleroy: The Musical" and most recently "Twelfth Night" at the West Side Community Garden in Manhattan.

Journey Of An American Artist"

    A screening of a feature length documentary made in 2006 by two Florida film makers, Eric Emerick & Mark Oz. It is a biographical film about Mark's involvement in the art world through his father's friends in early the 50's and the founding of the N.Y. Studio School and his years of teaching figure sculpture at the Chautauqua Institution, as well as his own work.

SCARED PARANORMAL GROUP
  The SCARED! Crew has been investigating the paranormal since 2002, when they gathered up some cameras, a few friends and decided to look into the rumors of activity at nearby locations. They've tackled large, abandoned institutions as well as functioning places and residences. The group is built around the triumvirate of three viewpoints: the Scientist, the Psychic and the Skeptic. Not only do they tangle with the supernatural, they throw in an element of urban exploration into each of their shows. They go where you can't. They go where you won't. They go into the dark places of our world and try to illuminate it with the light of discovery. Tonight, they invite you to watch their creepiest episode to date—the Grand Midway Hotel, located in Windber, PA and then discuss with them their astounding findings.  The crew investigated the rumors and claims of paranormal activity over the course of two nights and for the first time ever, all three viewpoints are in agreement...The Psychic, The Skeptic and The Scientist.  What did they find?  Be brave, be ready, and bring your questions!  Get ready to be SCARED!

The Beehive Collective is most renowned for its large format pen and ink posters, which seek to provide a visual alternative to deconstruction of complicated social and political issues ranging from globalization, free trade, militarism, resource extraction, and biotechnology."

New UFO Documentary being created by director JAMES CARMAN which explores theories of alien contact throughout history. The project features an incredible array of experts in the ufological field including astronauts, military professionals, aviation professionals, law-enforcement, government, scientists, psychologists, researchers, and just plain folks who have found themselves lifted up into this very complex and strange phenomenon.  James has been conducting these interviews and building this work-in-progress for several years and it is just about ready for film festivals world wide.
